[origin: EP0703039A1] The machining device has a spindle stock(11) supporting a grinding disc(13), used for machining the edges of a gravestone(5) supported by the workpiece table(4). The grinding disc is controlled electronically in dependence on the edge configuration of the gravestone, with the spindle stock pivoted relative to a carrier arm(9), about an axis(12) parallel to a main rotation axis(3) for the carrier arm and/or the workpiece table. Pref. a locking device acts between the rotatable carrier arm and workpiece table, with the axis of the spindle stock lying in the machining plane of the grinding disc.
