Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0703297A1] The dipping container (12) for introduction of pure magnesium (15) into a processing ladle (1) or a similar vessel containing iron melt (16) incorporates a protective cover (14) for magnesium. The container is characterised by the following facts: (a) the protective cover takes the form of a filler (14) positioned so that it at least partially covers magnesium; (b) from outside the filler (14) is provided with a restraining wall (13) made of a material which burns, dissolves or melts in the iron melt (16). The container is used in combination with processing ladle provided with at least one ring-shaped shoulder (5).
