[origin: EP0703408A2] The solid material is dried in a gasification heating boiler in a drying zone and above a grate in a gasification zone is gasified with input of air under stoichiometric conditions. The burner chamber (8) is enclosed within a gas collection chamber (5) and a gas burner (19) with a gas-air mixt. chamber and a gas feed tube is provided n the inlet area of the burner chamber. The gas burner is combined with an ignition or support burner. The burner chamber crosses through the gas collection chamber as a tube and is arranged above the ash chamber.
