An electrical connector has a plug unit (1) that has a number of contact pin elements (3) that are located in parallel within formed chambers (2). The ends of the pins are formed with spring elements (4) that expand to engage a recessed section to securely retain them within the housing. The top section of the pins fit within the bores and have sealing elements (5) to protect against moisture. The plug engages a bush-type mating socket and built into the socket is a mechanical interlock unit (7) that reacts to the relative movement between the bush and socket and a transverse motion occurs to securely latch the parts.

Eine elektrische Steckverbindung besteht aus einem Steckerteil und einem Buchsenteil, die durch eine axiale Relativbewegung zusammensteckbar sind. In beiden Teilen befinden sich parallele Kammern zur Aufnahme von Steckkontaktelementen und jeweils ein Riegelteil, das durch eine Querbewegung von einer Ent- in eine Verriegelungsstellung bewegbar ist und in der Verriegelungsstellung die Steckkontaktelemente hintergreift. Bei der Relativbewegung der beiden Teile ist das Verriegelungsteil des Steckerteils durch das Buchsenteil bzw. das Verriegelungsteil des Buchsenteils durch das Steckerteil in die Verriegelungsstellung bewegbar. <IMAGE>
