[origin: EP0704302A1] The feed device is used to feed the printing plate (4) to the plate cylinder (1) of the printing machine, with a vertically sliding shield (2) positioned in front of the printing cylinders having a pivoted support (6) on the side opposite the latter. The support is displaced between a first position in which it supports the printing plate parallel to the shield and a second position in which the printing plate is angled relative to the shield in the insertion direction. Pref. the support is provided by a U-shaped rail which is pivoted for rotation about the bottom edge of the shield via a pair of pivot hinges (9) at its opposite ends.
