[origin: EP0704588A1] Cylindrical recesses (8, 10), formed on opposite sides (18, 20) of the key blade (1), are slightly greater in diameter than the corresponding paired disks (22, 28) of conducting material, of which one has a central stub (26) press-fitted into a socketed boss (32, 34) on the other. A space (12), separating the boss from the surrounding key material (14), extends at one point to accommodate (56) the resin-encapsulated (62) identifier circuit (2), which is electrically connected (60) to the interconnected disks, and (58) to the blade. Annular insulating plates (38, 44) separate the main disks from the intermediate areas (14) of the blade, and locate them positively within their recesses. The disk and blade connections (60, 58) are completed via shaped conducting areas (48, 50) provided on the thicker insulating plate (38). Opt., disks have solid insulating seats.
