[origin: EP0704752A1] The device for curtain coating comprises a pourer (1) with a pouring lip (2) and a pouring roller (4) for guiding a carrier (5). In front of the curtain (3) is arranged a suction device which contains a suction ductor (7), whose front edge (8) directed towards the curtain has a slot (17) connected to a vacuum device. The pourer is formed from a pourer plate (21) with a pouring lip and a pouring roller. In the foremost pourer plate beneath the pouring lip is an opening (22) arranged parallel to the curtain, and which is connected to an air feed device. The opening is formed by a gap between the rear surface (15) of the suction ductor turned away from the curtain and the front side of the foremost pourer plate.
