[origin: WO9500107A1] Compositions for protection of the skin and scalp during hair relaxer treatment are disclosed. Also disclosed are processes for producing said compositions, and methods of using said compositions during hair relaxer treatment. The compositions of the present invention protect the scalp from the irritating side effects of hair relaxers, but do not interfere with the straightening activity of the hair relaxers.
