Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9427634A1] Methods of inducing immunologic tolerance in a subject, such as human, by administering a tolerizing amount of a composition comprising a cryptic peptide derived from the antigen and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier are described. Compositions which include a cryptic peptide derived from a protein antigen, such as an allergen or autoantigen, can be administered to induce tolerance in a naive or pre-sensitized individual. Preferably, the composition is administered orally.
