[origin: EP0705752A1] The communication system allows information to be communicated to a passing train (FZ). It has a track coupling coil (GKS) supplied with a data telegram by a telegram generator, for reception by a reception circuit on board the train including a train coupling coil (FZS). The data telegram has a start (START) and a rest (REST). A periodic loop telegram (STEL) is provided by a transmission loop (SS) in front of the track coupling coil in the travel direction of the train, indicating the contents of the data telegram. The unaltered data telegram is used as the loop telegram, with the start transmitted at the beginning of each period. The train reception circuit detects the repeated starts.
