[origin: WO9500989A1] A method and a device for forming wiring looms. The device for forming and joining together the branches (11, 12, 13) of a branched loom (10) of lengths of conductor wire (1, 4, 15) comprises two or more main co-linear conveyors (18, 26) with a common longitudinal axis (XX1). Each of said main conveyors moves wire end group carriers in two opposite directions. Said device comprises at least one joining apparatus adjacent one of said conveyors, and a unit for changing the order of wire end group carriers along said axis (XX1). Said device further comprises a two-way transfer unit for transferring the wire end group carriers from one of said main conveyors to the other, and a unit for separately controlling and monitoring the movement of said conveyors over predetermined distances. The method and device may be used to produce wiring looms.
