Magnet units (3,3') are fitted in front of and behind the wheel (4) of the vehicle and are mounted on a common brake frame for lowering and raising them. The magnet rail brake frame (7) is steerable dependent upon the curvature radius of the rail. On the chassis frame (2), drivers are arranged for steering the brake frame. On the wheel set bearing or on a part connected with it are drivers for steering the brake frame. The brake magnet unit contains electro-magnets, permanent magnets or eddy current magnets. The brake frame with the magnets is pneumatically lowerable. The brake is fittable to a rail vehicle with a twin axle running mechanism, both axles being fitted on a common rotary frame, the brake unit being fitted adjacently to both wheels.

Eine Magnetschienenbremse wird so aufgebaut, daß eine Bremsmagneteinheit (3) vor und eine Bremsmagneteinheit (3') hinter dem Rad (4) eines Schienenfahrzeuges angeordnet sind, wobei die beiden Bremsmagneteinheiten (3,3') an einem gemeinsamen Bremsrahmen (7) angebracht sind und gemeinsam mit diesem absenkbar bzw. anhebbar sind. Diese Magnetschienenbremse kann im Gegensatz zu herkömmlichen Magnetschienenbremsen auch bei Einzelachslaufwerken eingesetzt werden. Bei einem Zweiachslaufwerk wird eine Erhöhung der Bremskraft auf nahezu den doppelten Wert erzielt. <IMAGE>
