Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0706965A1] The material is particularly for packing cigarettes, the free end of one strip (9') being delivered by a mechanism (10) to the (9"). A knife parts the outgoing strip off after the splicing operation between the strips. A plate turning on an axis at right angles to the plane of the strips has a cylinder segment (21) turning independently of it on the same axis, also a mating component with a knife parting off the free end of the new strip and swinging in and out of a clamping position. Pressure rollers (31',31") over which the outgoing strip runs are mounted in the path through which the segment swings. The feed mechanism for the new strip comprises a grab for the strip, which passes between the segment and the mating component when they are swung apart.
