[origin: EP0706968A2] The drive has an electric motor (3), a drive transmission (1), a disc or drum brake (2) and a brake housing (8) acting as the stator, fitted to the end face of the motor and/or the transmission housing. The brake is secured to a common motor and transmission shaft (6) within the brake housing. The transmission pref. uses a planetary gearing, with a handwheel (7) attached to the end of the common shaft on the outside of the motor for emergency manual operation.
