[origin: EP0707905A1] Metal strip prodn. in a continuous process is heat treated to relieve stresses, bend-stretched for straightening and in a subsequent discontinuous process, pull-stretched and cut into required plate sizes. The installation consists of a continuously operating section with at least one heat treatment unit (9) contg. annealing and cooling sections (9a,9b) and a bend-stretching unit (12), and a discontinuously operating pull-stretching unit (14) followed by a cutting unit (19).
