Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0708233A2] The control system uses at least one setting element (110) for regulating the quantity of fuel supplied to the engine. A first control stage (130) calculates the required fuel quantity in dependence of a given operating parameter and a second control stage (120) responds to the calculated fuel quantity and a second monitored parameter, to provide a setting parameter for the setting element. Pref. a plausibility check compares the required fuel quantity and the operating duration of a magnetic valve supplying the required quantity of fuel, to provide a fault signal for indexing a fault counter, when the required fuel quantity is zero and the operating duration of the valve is above a threshold value.
