Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9530792A1] The invention concerns compounds of general formula (I) for cationizing textile fibres, in particular cellulose-type and protein-type materials. In general formula (I), Y is the formula group (a) or (b), X is a borine or bromine atom; n is an integer between 3 and 8; M is a cationic group derived from a heterocyclic nitrogen-containing compound chosen from a group which includes imidazole, imidazole alkyl derivatives, benzimidazole, piperazine and its alkyl derivatives, pyrazole and its alkyl derivatives, pyrazoline and its alkyl derivatives, or a mixture of these compounds; Z represents either the group (c) in which R1 and R2 represent hydrogen atoms, alkyls or hydroxyalkyls with between 1 and 5 carbon atoms, or alkylaryls with between 7 and 11 carbon atoms, or represents a residual cationic group from a heterocyclic nitrogen-containing compound represented by the symbol M. The proposed process for finishing textile fibres involves treating the textile material before dyeing or printing, or following finish dyeing or printing, in a water bath containing compounds of general formula (I) in quantities of 0.1-10 % of the substrate weight, at a pH level of 7-14 and a temperature of 10-200 DEG C, for a period of between 10 seconds and 24 hours.
