[origin: EP0709186A1] The gripper comprises a stop bar, a shaft, and a bridge consisting of a large number of individual grips. One apex (8) is formed on the cylinder (7) where the curvature is sharpest, and a second one (15) where the curvature is more gradual. The bridge (2, 4, 5) is near the first apex, and the axis of rotation (9) near the second one. There can be a rib (3) on the cylinder near the first apex, and with which the bridge works. The wall thickness of the cylinder can increase from the first apex to the second one. There can be communicating apertures (16) in the cylinder, extending in the axial direction.
