[origin: EP0709218A1] The system is for newspapers, periodicals, etc. (24). These are held by individual clamps (14) in an overlapping pattern and transported through a first station (30), where typing is carried out on one outside surface (34) of each. The papers are then transported through a second station (52) where typing takes place on the opposite outside surface (50). Before this, part at least (36, 36') of each outside surface is exposed which had previously been covered by another item. Between the station the items can be turned over to expose the second outside surface. The items can be transported by the clamps in the suspended position travelling upwards through the first station and downwards through the second.
