[origin: EP0709453A2] The present invention refers to a method for the production of transparent solid soap starting from common fatty materials (glycerides, fatty acids) and usual additives (multivalent alcohols). The transparency and appearance of the soap is improved and the moulding process is also ameliorated by the addition of hydroxy polycarbonic or polyhydroxy carbonic or polyhydroxy polycarbonic acid esters (1-5%). At the same time the tendency for rancidity is diminished by the addition of stilbene and hydroxy benzophenone derivatives or 4-alkoxy cinnamates.
