Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0709529A1] The system has a filter membrane strip which works in guide rails (2) in a channel. At opposite ends the membrane is guided upwards via curved sections above the maximum water level (7), where it is locked in position and can be moved in the reverse direction. The strip can have reinforcing portions along its edges accommodating rollers or shoes resistant to tension load, so that it can be pulled into the rails. The strip width can be such as to allow sagging in the channel.
