[origin: EP0710555A2] The printing plate feed system uses a transport device in contact with the surface of the printing machine for feeding its front edge into engagement with a clamp rail of the plate cylinder, with the register alignment of the printing plate checked at the clamp rail, before the printing plate is secured. The register alignment is checked at two spaced points along the clamping rail via a pair of register pins (6), with the printing plate released by the transport device for a given interval when the register alignment is not obtained at both points, before again feeding the printing plate in the direction of the clamp rail.
