Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0710810A2] The condensate handling system prevents the penetration of gas in the condensate (K) when the power plant is at a standstill, by lowering the surface (16) of the condensate to the level of a cover (20). A condenser vacuum is maintained at least during the lowering of the condensate level. Pref. the condensate can be stored temporarily in a water reservoir (2) and is returned to the condenser (1) upon provision of the vacuum, the returned condensate pref. being cooled.
