[origin: EP0710969A1] The appts. is arranged such that when the switch contacts are bonded or fixed together, the locking ability of an operating handle (2) mounted on the drive shaft (2) of the switch device (3) is prevented. The handle (2) is divided into two grip halves (2a,2b) in a plane corresponding to the longitudinal axis (5) of the switch device drive shaft (4). The handle halves (2a,2b) are pivoted away from each other in the switch on direction against a spring torque forcing them together, by a larger torque of the switch device latch acting in the off direction. This pivotal movement releases or activates a locking element (6). On each operation of the handle (2) in the switch off direction in the unlocked condition, the locking element (6) is locked or inactivated.
