Abstract (en)
The boot consists of a lower section (1) which fits over the foot and heel, and an upper leg-section (2) which is articulated to the lower section and has a deep recess (4) at the back, open towards the bottom, allowing the upper section to pivot to the rear through a substantial angle. The area of the boot which is uncovered by the recess (4) is covered by a cap (18) which is also articulated to the lower part of the boot at two opposite points (20) situated below the level of the upper section pivots (3). The upper section and the cap are connected by an arm (11), with a second arm (13) connecting the first arm's pivot point to the lower section of the boot at a point (14) above the ankle. The pivot (12) joining the two arms is able to slide in a slideway (16) fixed to the cap and lying in a plane parallel to the plane of oscillation of the upper leg-section and cap. The arms are designed to lock the upper section in place when the cap is closed.

Chaussure de ski constituée d'une partie inférieure (1) et d'un collier (2) articulé sur la partie inférieure et présentant, à l'arrière, une profonde échancrure (4) ouverte vers le bas autorisant un large basculement du collier vers l'arrière. Cette échancrure est recouverte par un capot (18) articulé sur la partie inférieure (1) et relié, d'une part, à la partie inférieure (1) et, d'autre part, au collier (2) par une genouillère (11, 13) dont l'articulation (12) est montée dans une glissière (16) solidaire du capot (18). La genouillère est donc actionnée par le capot (18), mais en position fermée, les forces d'appui arrière sur le collier (2) sont transmises à la semelle exclusivement par la genouillère. <IMAGE>
