Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0711517A1] The upper shaft part (4) projects over the ankle bone. It is separated from the side parts (3) by side slits (5) and from the heel part (2) by a heel slit (6) so that a connecting web (7) remains between the slits running towards the ankle area (K) to connect the upper part (4) to the heel and side parts. On each side of the shell the heel slit runs in an arc (8) round the ankle area and the side slit (5) runs in a radial section aligned with the centre of curvature of this arc. The side slits have an instep section (12) angled upwards and expanding outwards.
