[origin: EP0711665A1] The roller consists of a hollow supporting cylinder (10) of a given diameter, designed to be rotated and equipped with an inner compressed air feed (20) and transverse jets (22) at given intervals. The roller has at least one intermediate sleeve (12) with an inner diameter which is compatible with the outer diameter of the supporting cylinder (10) and an outer diameter which is compatible with a thin outer sleeve carrying the image to be printed. The intermediate sleeve has jets (38) in a ring at the same angular intervals as those in the cylinder, and shutters (29) for use when the sleeve is being fitted to the supporting cylinder. The shutters are in the form of a ring which can be rotated between open and closed positions and is equipped with seals.
