[origin: EP0711890A2] The geared handle (10) comprises a gear-box (20) with a movable carrier (44) protruding from it for gripping the carrier slide-piece. The carrier is driven via a toothed rack (46) by a pinion (34) rotary connected to the neck (14) of the handle. The pinion forms part of a profiled shaft (30) rigidly joined to a locking disc (35) or held in a hollow cavity (16) in the handle-neck. The bottom of the cavity is slightly conical and narrower than the conical tip (37) of the shaft. The shaft's conical tip has a ledge (36) next to a cylindrical middle part (33) moving in a guide sleeve (60) in the gear-box and preferably in a guide ring (18) on the handle-neck.
