[origin: WO9305256A1] A remote-controlled central locking system for a motor vehicle has a control unit (Z) which locks the locks (S) when a hand emitter (H) sends a locking signal (G) to one or several receivers (E) arranged in the motor vehicle. Once the locks (S) are definitively locked by remote-control (by means of V), it should no longer be possible for a burglar who has smashed a window (F) to unlock such a lock (S), and therefore to open the closure that was hitherto closed by actuating an operating unit (K) that normally is only accessible from the inside of the motor vehicle. The control unit (Z) has a time-lag element (C) that acts directly or indirectly on parts of the closure, for example the lock (S) and/or the operating unit (K), in order to make it easier for accidently locked-in passengers to escape from the locked motor vehicle during a delay that lasts several seconds from the moment the receiver (E) received the locking signal (G), for example within 6 to 20 seconds.
