[origin: EP0712717A1] The pneumatic platen press consists of one frame (2) with two pressure platens which can move relative to each other. The lower (laying) platen (4) is pressed against the counter-pressure platen (3) by inflatable hoses (6) supported by the frame via a base platen (5). The hoses (6) are in at leas t two hose chambers (8,9,10) one above the other, separated from each other by movable intermediate platens (7). The pressure hoses in the respective chambers can be inflated and deflated independently of those in the other chambers. Each chamber has a separate air line with lock (12) for its own hoses.
