Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0712982A2] The locking device uses a manually rotatable locking catch (2) and an associated spring-loaded ratchet element (42), for holding the locking catch in its locking position. The ratchet element is released against the force of the bias spring (43) via an electromagnet (41), to allow the locking catch to rotate into the released position under the force of a setting spring (3), upon insertion of an electronic key. Pref. the locking catch is provided by a rotary disc having a radially projecting locking arm (21) and a notch (24) at a given point around its periphery into which the ratchet element can fit. Pref. the ratchet element is provided by the armature of the electromagnet.
