Abstract (en)
The support for a part of a patient's body, such as a limb, for a medical treatment or diagnosis appts., is a cushion shell (13) covered with microporous PTFE, and filled with small particles (15). The particles (15) can be fixed in a previously set position by evacuating the shell (13). The shell (13) has a mouthpiece with a closing valve, for gas to be pumped in or out. The microporous PTFE coating is impermeable to water or steam.
