[origin: EP0713980A2] The two-part linear actuator has position variable control or sensing elements connected to a bus system and internal and external electronic control units. The position of the actuating member (6) of the linear actuator is determined by function elements (17) which may comprise valves or sensors (18, 24) depending upon the control medium. The fixed housing part (3) contains a cylindrical bore in which a piston moves, the piston being connected to the actuator (6). The position of the piston is determined by the function elements (17) which are fixed in position with clamping screws (57) and connect to signal bus leads (28) which connect to a control unit (32), which may, in turn, connect to a remote control unit (33). The actuator may be electrically or pneumatically driven.
