[origin: EP0714002A2] The operating and display unit is provided in the hob plate having at least one heating zone i.e. for an electric fitted cooking trough, including an operating and indicator element for setting an electronic control unit which generates control signals for controlling the power switching elements of an heating element assigned to the heating zone. The cooking hot plate (4) has a plate (9) portion partially overlapping a corner zone section of the hot plate used for accommodating the operating and display (indicating) unit and raised above this section, and used for accommodating the operating and indication elements (20, 21).
