[origin: WO9506224A1] A burner is disclosed for a vehicle heating device having (a) a fan (8) for supplying combustion air; (b) a combustion chamber (2) provided on part of its inner surface with a porous lining (24); (c) an arrangement (6) for supplying fuel to the lining (24); and (d) an electric heater plug for igniting the fuel evaporated through the lining (24). The burner is characterised in that (e) the heater plug (4) is arranged in such a way that its longitudinal axis lies substantially in a tangential plane to the circumferential wall (20) of the combustion chamber.
