[origin: EP0714768A1] The cylinders (2, 5) on which the printing plates are mounted are moved from a first position in which they lie against a rubber roller (3) into a second position in which they lie clear of this roller. The printer (1,4) can be switched into a third stage in which it is clear of the printer drive. One of the printing plate cylinders (2) rotates about an axis, the ends of which are mounted in eccentrics (12). The eccentrics are mounted at one end of connecting rods (13), the other ends of which carry the rubber roller. The three stages of the printer correspond with three different angular positions of the eccentrics.
