[origin: DE4438762C1] A process for avoiding weaving errors in flat and pile weaves is esp. concerned with air jet weaving machines where there is a control unit holding a weaving program governing the min. operational functions of weft insertion, warp let off and take down of goods. The program encompasses: (a) the insertion, depending on pattern, of weft yarns in a weaving section by means of a main air jet plus auxiliary jets and their fixing at the weave selvedge by a weaving reed; (b) the storing in the controller of target operational parameters such as drive rotational speed and auxiliary jet pressures correlating to the process parameters of the weft yarn to be inserted; (c) the manual insertion of further pattern parameters such as weave construction and for terry weave production the pile height; and (d) the appearance during weaving of rapid transitory operational conditions relating to the target parameters resulting from the processing of at least one signal derived from either the processing of weft type or the manually inserted parameters. Here, during the effective duration of the transitory conditions, the insertion, at least, of weft yarn is stopped by the simple selection of so-called fluidic or non-fluidic blank weft by weft insertion (2) means. Simultaneously the operational functions, warp take off and goods take down, are controlled, depending on the quantity or the duration of the blank weft positions, such that the weave selvedge is held in a remote position by a weaving reed stop.
