Bei einer gaserzeugenden Mischung aus einem Brennstoff, einem Oxidator und gegebenenfalls einem Kühlmittel besteht der Brennstoff aus einer Mischung aus Kupfertetrammindinitrat [Cu(NH3)4](NO3)2 und einem eine große Sauerstoff-Reaktionsfähigkeit aufweisenden, pulverförmigen Metall oder Halbmetall bzw. Legierungen derselben.
