[origin: WO9533249A1] A device for displaying the path of a traveling vehicle such as an automobile is provided with a position detecting section, outputting section, display section, and converting section. The position detecting section detects the present position of the traveling vehicle, using signals transmitted from an artificial satellite. The outputting section outputs map information including text information corresponding to the position on the map recorded on a recording medium, etc. The displaying section displays the map information supplied from the outputting section and, indicates the present position of the traveling vehicle detected by the position detecting section on the map information. The converting section converts the text information corresponding to the present position of the traveling vehicle detected by the position detecting section into a speech and outputs the speech.
