Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0717156A1] The hydrant is connected to an underground water pipe and has a riser with two telescoping parts (100,200). The lower part is a jacket (100) with an outer flange (104) at its upper end. The upper part is a riser which can slide inside the jacket, and which has radial grooves at intervals around its outer circumference. A spray ring (503) can be inserted into a chosen groove, and a sealing ring (504) slid against it, and the rings can be compressed between the flange on the jacket, and a tensioning flange (502) which can be placed over the riser. A two-part length-adjustable rod is also fitted to operate the main valve.
