[origin: EP0717181A2] The commencement of injection is adjusted by a first piston (116) incorporating a cylindrical bore (127) for a controlling slider (128) defining a space (46) in continuous communication with the pressure supply line (39). Pressure in the working chamber (120) drives the slider against a return spring (123). To avoid pressure reactions from the working chamber, the slider is actuated by a second piston (55) and a plunger (49) in an axial bore (52). This piston moves in a pressure chamber (56) under parameter-dependent control pressure isolated from the working chamber by the relief chamber (122). The pressure space (56)is joined to a load-relief line (143) in which is arranged an electrically controlled valve (44).
