[origin: WO9601347A1] A moulded article for fire protection includes a moulded body (1) with fire-retardant properties, containing one or more blocks (2) of heat insulating material, wherein said body is made from a composition comprising inorganic particles and a binder, contains at least one inorganic compound supplying crystallising water molecules, is adapted to confer to said article a predetermined mechanical resistance and is coated with at least one hard resistant resin and/or chemical binder layer, applied over the entire outer surface of said body (1) after the setting of said binder.
