[origin: FI111751B] The steam boiler has a maximum capacity of 100 tons per hour. It consists of a furnace (1) and a back pass (2) each having a constant rectangular cross-section. Steam superheaters are provided within the back pass but not within the furnace. The furnace and the back pass are separated by a common wall. The ratio of the cross-sectional area of the furnace to the back pass should be in the range of 2:1 - 6:1. The furnace has one wall which is free from traversing tubes and the like so that the design can be enlarged by expanding that side.
