[origin: EP0718116A2] A recording material contains both a microcapsule containing an electron-donating color former dissolved in a solvent and an electron-accepting developer. The electrondonating color former comprises Crystal Violet Lactone, and the solvent comprises a mixture of a vegetable oil which has a fatty acid residue composition containing an oleic acid residue in the range of 10 to 60 weight % and a specific bisphenol compound, the bisphenol compound being contained in the mixture in an amount of 2 to 40 weight parts based on 100 weight parts of the vegetable oil.
