[origin: EP0718193A1] The method entails releasing the binding wire (11) from the hooking position (14) on the plinth front side (2a) and drawing out one free wire length (L) by a little more than the measurements of the bale height (H) plus bale depth (T). The binding wire running in a vertical slot (3a) on the press rear wall (3) is gripped by the hooked free end (16b) of a draw needle (16). The binding wire, formed into loops, are pulled by the needle through the slot (5c) in the press slide base (5a) until reaching a position in front of the prepared bale, before cutting the wire loops and securing the free ends.
