Abstract (en)
The procedure involves wrapping different objects(18,19) with shrinkable foil on a conveyor belt within a tunnel (15) and then passing them onwards, it is required that only some objects are wrapped yet others are not. Both sets of objects pass through the tunnel and when the objects pass which are not to be wrapped, the duration of heat application to the foil is reduced so as to be insufficient to seal it around these objects. The choice of which objects not to seal may depend on type, format, thickness, composition or weight. The sequence of both sorts of objects is random. Alternatively, the non-application of foil may be done by temporarily doubling the speed of transit of objects on the belt.

Bei der Verpackung von Gegenständen, insbesondere Blattstapeln, wie Computer-Listen für den Transport und Versand in Folie, sollen dicke Stapel (18) mit einer Schrumpffolienumhüllung (48) möglichst dicht umhüllt werden, um ihre Transportfestigkeit zu erhöhen, während die Umhüllung von dünnen Stapeln (19) ungeschrumpft bleiben soll, um die Stapel nicht zu verformen. Es wird vorgeschlagen, beide Arten von Gegenständen (18, 19) in der Verpackungslinie (11) durch den Schrumpftunnel zu leiten, jedoch bei den nicht zu schrumpfenden Gegenständen (19) durch Erhöhung der Durchlaufgeschwindigkeit und/oder Herabsetzung der Umluftgeschwindigkeit die Wärmeübertragungsbedingungen so zu verringern, daß keine Schrumpfung stattfindet. Es wird ferner vorgeschlagen, die Schweißbacken einer Längsschweißstation in Abhängigkeit von der Dicke der Gegenstände so zu steuern, daß dünnere Pakete enger umhüllt werden als dickere. <IMAGE>
