[origin: EP0718208A1] The blister pack for pharmaceuticals, without an outer packaging cover, has a packing slip (35) forming part of the contents of the blister pack (30) within its outer edges. The base (34) of the blister pack (30) has a number of recesses (32) to hold the packaged contents for removal as required. The base (34) has a compartment (36) for the packing slip (35), with two long sides and two short sides, defined by shoulders (31). The compartment (36) is covered by the cladding film (33). Alternatively, the blister pack has a grip at the end side to hold the packing slip. The grip can be of an opaque or transparent plastics such as thermoplastics such as PVC, polyolefin, polycarbonate, polyamide or polystyrene and polyacrylics. It can also be of cardboard or paper. The base is an embossed or cast or deep drawn or vacuum shaped plastics, plastics compounds or plastics combined with paper or metal foil using PVC, polyamide, polyolefin, polyester or polycarbonate. A barrier layer can be vacuum deposited using metals, oxides, nitrides of aluminium, silicon and other metals and semi-metals.
