[origin: EP0718530A1] The pump unit has a pump propeller in a housing (15) with inlet and rear outlet branches. The propeller shaft (11) is sealed w.r.t. the housing by a sliding ring seal cartridge (20). Beyond the seal, the pump shaft is supported in a bearing unit and belt driven from a motor. The pump end of the seal housing (21) has an outer groove (23) in which a two or more section support ring (24) seats. The seal housing is supported against the pump housing by the support ring and held in place by a bolted tension ring (25, 26).
