[origin: EP0718742A2] The power control has an electronic control state (1), regulating the power supplied to the load (5) for preventing feedback to the mains supply network via power limitation and/or period duration variation. The controlled load may be provided by a cooking hob heating element, the electronic control stage coupled to an input element (2) on the input side for selecting the power setting and to a display (3) on the output side, with the power for the load controlled via a power regulator (4).
