Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0719590A1] The system for the projection of a mixture of air and liquid comprises a hollow cylindrical body (1) forming an expansion chamber (2). The chamber is connected to a pressurised liquid source by a threaded ferrule. A calibrated orifice (4) is located at the upstream end (5) and a deflector (6), perpendicular to the body axis, seals the downstream end (7). The connector, calibrated orifice, body and deflector are made in a single piece. A lateral air inlet (8) communicates with the expansion chamber and a radial outlet (9) for the liquid air mixture is in the shape of a slit in the parallel walls adjacent to the deflector. The pressurised liquid passes through the calibrated orifice and the issuing liquid jet passes through the expansion chamber where it mixes with air induced through the lateral inlet. The mixture then strikes the deflector and leaves through the radial outlet.
